Flow chart of the research. The figure illustrates the experimental protocol. Pregnant C57BL/6 mice were treated with LPS or PBS on the 15.5th day. Most mice in the PTB group delivered during the night of day 16. Once the mice exhibited signs of premature delivery, blood and tissue samples were taken. Then, metabonomics analysis, staining, and qPCR were performed. After screening the differentially expressed metabolites, human CSMC were used to explore the potential functions of metabolites
