Cleaved caspase 3 and XIAP expression in control ceramide treated trophoblast cells. Levels of cleved caspase 3 and XIAP (n = 4) were measured by western blot and quantified by Spot Denso analysis; histograms show mean ± SEM. Cleaved caspase 3 was not changed in treated cells when compared to controls (a). XIAP protein was increased in the treated cells (p < 0.03) when compared to controls (b).
