Steroid intermediates promote phosphorylation of p38 MAPK (a) and CREB (b) in a time dependent manner. Y1-BS1 cells were incubated with HDL₃ (30 μg/ml), 22(R)-diol (10 μM) or pregnenolone (10 μM) for different time point. At the end of incubation, cells were harvested and lysed for SDS–PAGE followed by western blotting analysis using Phospo-specific and total p38 MAPK and CREB antibodies.
