PLA 2 activity assays using AA-PC as substrate. Ca++-dependent PLA2 activity assays were performed on cellular lysates with AA-PC and 14C-AA-PC in the presence of 5 mM CaCl2 and Ca++-independent assays were performed using the same substrate but in the absence of Ca++ and the presence of 5 mM EGTA. Columns with different superscripts are significantly different (p < 0.05). The PLA2G4A inhibitor, pyrroline-1 (PYR-1) inhibited Ca++-dependent activity.
