Average and distribution of motile sperm counts from Study 2. Motile sperm count was determined two weeks after treatment and was plotted as the mean ± SEM (106 per cauda epididymis). The stacked bars represent the proportion of sperm counts that fell into the following ranges of sperm counts (106 per cauda epididymis): < 11, 11 - 20, 21 - 40, 41 - 80, and > 80. Sperm Count Index was calculated as described in the Methods and is reported above each bar. Groups 8 - 12 failed Bartlett's test and were analyzed by the Kruskal-Wallis test with Dunn's post-test, symbols represent groups statistically different from Group 9: *, p < 0.05; **, p < 0.01; ***, p < 0.005. Groups 12 - 14 passed Bartlett's test: symbols represent groups statistically different from Group 12 by Tukey's post-test: §, p < 0.01.
