Mosaicism in extra-ovarian tissues and ovarian stromal cells, granulosa cells and oocytes. Lymphocytes (n = 30), cells from buccal smears (n = 100) and urine (n = 100) were analysed by FISH with an X chromosomal peri-centromeric probe. The percentage of cells with a particular karyotype is indicated. In addition, the X-chromosomal content of ovarian cortex components including stromal cells (n = 80), granulosa cells (n = 262 from 8 individual unilaminar follicles) and oocytes (n = 6) is shown. Three different karyotypes (45, X / 46, XX / 47, XXX) were detected in the somatic cells while all oocytes were tetraploid (92, XXXX)
