Inhibition of human placental cells’ serotonin uptake by antidepressant drugs. Uptake of serotonin by PHT (A) and BeWo (B) cells in the presence of selected antidepressant drugs: paroxetine (PRX), citalopram (CIT), sertraline (SRT), venlafaxine (VFX), fluvoxamine (FLV), and fluoxetine (FXT) at physiologically achievable plasma concentrations (0.3 to 3 µM).
