Progesterone production by granulosa cells from patients of different ages. Patients who ranged in age from 25 to 29 years old did not response to hCG with a significant increase in progesterone production. However, other age groups (30–35 and ≥36 years old) did have a significant increase in progesterone when stimulated with hCG. Asterisks indicate a difference of (P < 0.05) from control value within age ranges. Cells were treated with PGF (0.1 μg/ml) or hCG (5 IU/ml). N values for each treatment group are given in parenthesis above each column
