Inhibition of p38 MAPK activity by SB203580 augments steroid production. Y1-BS1 cells were pre-treated with or without SB203580 (10 μM) overnight. Cells were then incubated with HDL3 (30 μg/ml), 22(R)-diol (10 μM) or pregnenolone (10 μM) for 5 h. At the end of the incubation, the medium sampless were collected for hormone analysis using HPLC-MS / MS.
