Benjamini-hochberg multiple testing correction for false discovery rate (FDR) was applied and significance set to FDR adjusted P-value < 0.05. A post-hoc pairwise comparison of FP compared to LP epithelial cells was completed using Fisher’s Least Significant Difference (LSD) to determine which means differed

For the analysis of gene expression by real-time RT-PCR, mean level of expression and SEM are indicated for FP and LP epithelial cells of the ampulla and isthmus, as well as fold change in relative expression (FP vs. LP). For statistical analysis of relative gene expression by real-time RT-PCR, P-values to determine the significance of each transcript were determined using the Student’s t-test
