Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of oviductal magnum from juvenile (10-week-old) and egg-laying adult (30-week-old) chickens. The juvenile oviductal magnum was composed of an epithelia bundle (a) covered with a few ciliated non-secretory cells (b, c). In the adult oviductal magnum (d-f), the luminal surface was covered with well-developed cilia and bulging non-ciliated secretory cells, including a large mass of secreted egg-white materials.
