  1. Real time PCR was done with serially diluted prostate cDNA. The recovered CT values were plotted against the logarithms of relative transcript concentrations and analyzed by linear regression. The PCR efficacy (E) was calculated from the equation E = 10(-1/slope). A perfect doubling of PCR products in each cycle yields a slope of -3.32 and an E-value of 2.00. The relative efficacy is the observed efficacy divided by 2.
