Reverse zymographic analysis of tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs). Inhibitor activities in the early (E), mid (M), and late (L) stages of bovine CL are shown. Lane 1 indicates the prestained SDS-PAGE standards (STD; Bio-Rad Laboratories, Hercules, CA). Their corresponding molecular masses (kDa) are indicated on the left. Four bands possessing MMP inhibitory activities (indicated by arrows on the right) were observed in luteal samples. These bands correspond to TIMP-1 (~30 kDa), TIMP-3 (~27 kDa), TIMP-4 (~24 kDa), and TIMP-2 (~22 kDa), respectively.
