(A) Mean (± sed) number of viable granulosa cells after 144 hours in serum free culture in the presence (dark bars) and absence (light bars) of oocyte conditioned medium (OCM), 1 ng/ml pFSH and either an optimal dose of Long R3 IGF-1 (100 ng/ml) or no Long R3 IGF-1. Values are from 3 independent cultures, each treatment having 4 replicates. There was a significant effect of treatment (P < 0.001) on viable cell number.
