  1. CORRECTION TO PROTOCOL FROM SENIOR AUTHOR

    Vance Trudeau, University of Ottawa

    14 March 2014

Hello, a colleague noted a typographical error that relates to the dose of GnRH-A. I would like to correct that here.  Go to  section 2 (one page 3) of the methods in paragraph 3, there is a symbol error.

    The original sentence is:

"For the priming pre-treatment, females and males were injected i.p. between 14:00- 14:30 with a low dose of GnRH-A (0.04 mg/g; Day 1)".

    THE CORRECTED SENTENCE IS :

For the priming pre-treatment, females and males were injected i.p. between 14:00- 14:30 with a low dose of GnRH-A (0.04 MICROGRAMS/g; Day 1).

TO BE CLEAR: Please note that the dose of GnRH-A for priming is 0.04 micrograms per gram body weight not 0.04 millgrams per gram.  It is clear that the "micro" symbol is missing. The principle behind this step is to give a lower dose of GnRH-A than that is in the AMPHIPLEX mix.  In this way,  one can sensitize the pituitary.  This is the concept of GnRH priming described in the paper.

I am sorry about this oversight.  If you ahve any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Good luck with your experiments. Yours Sincerely, Vance Trudeau (trudeauv@uottawa.ca).
